Congratulations Don Hamilton AOM

We are all delighted that Don Hamilton has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours List for his services to the community. Don joined the committee of management of the Ryder-Cheshire Victorian Homes soon after it began in 1982 and he is still a member to the present time. Don has served in the roles of Treasurer, Vice-president and President, and is currently serving as vice-president. As President of the Homes he, he was a member of the Ryder-Cheshire Australia Board.

Don’s contribution to the Homes is marked not just by length of time, but also by his genuine sense of selfless service for the relief of suffering. Don’s knowledge and experience in banking and finance have been invaluable to the smooth running of the Homes, and he has given tirelessly of his time and many other skills. Don has also served the community in many other organisations, especially through his long-standing membership of the Rotary Club of Rosanna. Don’s service to the community has been recognized with five Paul Harris Fellowships over his forty years with his club.

Congratulations Don for this hugely well-deserved award, and thank you for all that you have done for the Ryder-Cheshire Ivanhoe Homes across so many years.
