A very important appointment in Timor-Leste!
Earlier this year, Dr Rui Maria de Araujo became the fifth Prime Minister of independent Timor-Leste. Dr Araujo has had a distinguished career as a medical practitioner and administrator and has previously held the positions of Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister. Until recently, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Klibur Domin (the home which Ryder-Cheshire Australia supports in Timor-Leste) and still serves as a member of the Board. Dr Araujo has contributed very generously of his time and expertise to the support and development of Klibur Domin, and we all wish him great success in his role leading Timor-Leste.

The new version will be at the same web address (www.ryder-cheshire.com) but will be streamlined, more easily up-dated and will incorporate new search functions and links. So please keep an eye out for our new look web-site. Continue reading A Round up of Recent News from Ryder-Cheshire Australia

The warm weather and cool nights suited me though if I had to work in the sun it would have been a different story. Continue reading Fran
Arriving at Dili Airport I was met by the Director, Sr Joaquim Freitas Soares and volunteer, Siobhan, whose brother, Liam happened to be on the same flight.
We gathered ourselves and then headed to Tibar. The weather was hot and sunny and most welcome after the cold climate of Ballarat, Victoria. Continue reading DIANNE
Primary schools, secondary schools and universities are wonderful supporters of the Ryder-Cheshire Homes in India, Raphael, and East Timor, Klibur Domin. Some of our Australian schools and universities have given dedicated support for thirty or forty years, and others have been inspired to come on board more recently. Many of these Australian schools and universities have provided generous donations of money, books, computers and other forms of material support to the communities at Raphael and Klibur Domin.
