Harmony Day at St Joseph’s Primary School Elsternwick
WOW! Harmony Day proved a wonderful way to end our first term of 2021. The children had a marvellous time setting up and running their class stalls and an even better time roaming the school, engaging in a range of activities, games and shopping experience
To start the day, we spoke about why, as a Catholic School, we celebrate Harmony Day and where the money raised would be sent.
This year, the money raised will go towards having a playground sent to Klibur Domin, in Timor Leste for the children in the area to play with. As a school, we spoke about the meaning of Pope Francis’ quote “The Christian mission has only one focus: to change individuals’ lives so they can change the world” and how the children’s actions today would be changing the lives of the children in Klibur Domin.
We could not be more proud of how our children conducted themselves throughout the day, showing kindness and respect to all. Notably, the Year 5 children ensured the Preps were well looked after and supported for their first Harmony Day.
Thank you to all our amazing parents for donating to the stalls to ensure this day was a success for our children. Happy Easter and God bless.
Harmony Day proved a wonderful way to end our first term of 2021.
We have done our final count and raised $2585.
Thank you to our incredibly generous families for making this day the success that it was!
