Congratulations to all the wonderful volunteers who have made it possible for us to reach this amazing milestone, the 100th issue of The Red Feather. Inside you will find a selection of snippets taken from past newsletters. All interesting to read through.
Your RCA Board has made significant gains towards the Refresh and Renew targets we set in Melbourne, at the Biennial Conference held at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School to bring Ryder-Cheshire Australia forward so that we can continue to support “the relief of suffering” at Raphael and Klibur Domin. We are very excited about the actions we are taking to consolidate all our foundations.
There are now five Committees, each convened by an RCA Director.
They are:
- Legal and Finance
- Marketing and Fundraising
- Media and Communications
- International
- Secretariat
The Ryder-Cheshire Australia Biennial Conference will be held on Saturday, 6 May 2023 at the Royal Australian Air Force Association Ballarat Branch’s meeting rooms. It is a no frills one day face-to-face conference. More details will be emailed to you all very soon.
It is with sadness that on Thursday, 8 September 2022 at Balmoral Castle, Queen Elizabeth II passed away. Condolences have been sent to the Governor General in Canberra to be forwarded onto Buckingham Palace. There is an article in this newsletter that gives a sense of Queen Elizabeth’s admiration for the work of our Founders; Leonard Cheshire and Sue Ryder.
With best wishes
Rory McEwen, RCA President
