Bina Day at Ballarat Grammar Junior School is always an exciting and eagerly awaited occasion.

On 17 May, Rachel McKay, Dorothy Carpenter, and I had the privilege of representing Ryder-Cheshire at this annual event. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Julian Hopkins (Deputy Head of Junior School), Mark Warwick (Principal), and the dedicated staff.

The students did an incredible job organizing the event, setting up stalls, baking cakes and treats, and generously donating books and toys. The unwavering support from the parents was truly remarkable.

One of the highlights of the day was being escorted to the ‘Royal Box’ by Julian, where we had the joy of watching hundreds of excited children. Julian took a moment to speak with the students and staff, emphasizing the significance of the day and how the funds raised would benefit Raphael.Rachel officially opened the event, and the sound of delighted children running off in every direction to their stalls was absolutely heart-warming.

The energy, excitement, and commitment of the students, staff, and parents are both inspiring and overwhelming.Dorothy, Rachel, and I had a wonderful time shopping at the stalls, playing games, and contributing to the festivities. A couple of hours later, we left with arms full of treasures.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, the event raised an incredibly generous amount, which will be deeply appreciated by Raphael and Klibur Domin.
