We are a Not-For-Profit charity.
Our Mission is for the relief of suffering without discrimination.
We support two overseas Homes: Raphael in India and Klibur Domin in Timor-Leste.
We are 100% volunteers.
We send 100% of the money raised for the two Homes to the two Homes.
We have been in existence for over 60 years.
A little history for you.
Leonard Cheshire and Sue Ryder, the two Ryder-Cheshire Founders, were remarkable people.
One of their greatest legacies was the creation of Ryder-Cheshire Homes in more than 50 countries.
They believed in total delegation; settle on the agreed purpose, then step back and allow the locals to take control.
Their visits to Australia in the early 1060s saw the creation of numerous Ryder-Cheshire Foundations and Support Groups in Australia with the shared mission of raising funds for Raphael.
More recently, thanks to some inspiring leadership, another overseas Home, Klibur Domin, and two Homes in Mount Gambier, SA, and the Victorian Homes in in Ivanhoe, VIC, have come into being.
They are run by separate Boards, Vic.
Looking forward to you becoming a member of Ryder-Cheshire Australia.
Rory McEwen, RCA President
