A Momentous Celebration

Founders’ Day celebrated at Raphael on 5th April 2024 was a momentous occasion for us all, marking 65 years of commitment to service and community. It was heart warming to hear about the collective efforts over several months and the excitement leading up to the day of the performance. On arrival to Raphael guests were invited to attend the creative static displays that took you on a journey through the decades of Raphael’s progress and many milestones.

Preparations: Meticulous planning by everyone involved including haircuts for a polished look and sprucing up the buildings and gardens to welcome guests, repeated rehearsals throughout the months, with a professional choreographer teaching the children their dance steps and staff designing the many costumes and stage sets all added to the detailed preparations.

Performances: The children and staff practising diligently for their concert is a testament to their dedication and spirit. The awe and pride of the families watching their young ones perform with such professionalism was incredibly moving.

Community Gathering: Hosting 600 invited local and international guests all seated under the Sal trees highlights the strong community ties and the support network that has been built over the years. After the concert we all celebrated by having a meal together in the orchard.  The communal meal symbolizes the unity and fellowship that Raphael fosters.

Such events not only celebrate and remind us of the past achievements of Raphael but also reinforce the sense of unity and purpose moving forward. It was a day filled with joy and pride and a shared sense of accomplishment for everyone at Raphael.
